p This research investigates the manner in which social media interaction contributes to the collective identity of modern dance groups in Malang. By applying the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach the study analyses textual discourse at three levels micro (textual analysis) meso (discourse practices) and macro (socio-cultural practices) mdash using qualitative methods including interviews observations and questionnaires conducted via WhatsApp and Instagram. The findings indicate that informal language an enthusiastic tone and expressive visual semiotics are the primary elements used by the audience. Furthermore the study examines the audience s dominant position and the use of slang language in relation to how social hierarchies cultural norms and community dynamics affect their identity construction. These identity markers highlight the influence of Western and Korean pop culture on the spread of hip-hop and K-pop dance genres and language use in social media interaction followed by the growth of various modern dance cover groups communities and schools in Indonesia particularly in the Malang region. /p
