This article aims to analyze the equivalence of wordplay in Roald Dahl rsquo s The Twits. The study was conducted by finding out the wordplays that occur in the source text and in the translation text. A total of 40 wordplays were found in the source text. In translation text 56 wordplays were collected. The findings revealed that only 4 types of wordplay were found in the book. They are morphological development alliteration homonymy and syntactical structure. Out of 82 wordplays combined 70 data achieved partial equivalent and only 8 data achieved full equivalent. Thus indicates that wordplay is the most difficult humor to translate.
