English has four language components which are very important to support English skills. The four language components are grammar spelling system pronunciation and vocabulary. The goal of this research is to improve vocabulary mastery by employing the Breeding Root game strategy for the tenth grade of Unggulan Keagamaan students of MA Matholi ul Anwar Simo Lamongan in the academic year of 2021/2022. This particular research was categorized as Classroom Action Research. The strategy was implemented in one cycle. The researchers conducted this research with the help of an English teacher as the collaborator. The researcher involved 27 students of class X-14 Unggulan Keagamaan of MA Matholi rsquo ul Anwar Simo Lamongan as the subjects of the research. The data of the research were taken by using interviews questionnaires vocabulary tests and field notes. The research findings showed that the application of the Breeding Root game strategy was able to improve the students vocabulary mastery. The students rsquo vocabulary mastery improved from the average score of the preliminary test 50 to 76 85 in the post-test. Then the increasing score was 26 85 points. The employ of Breeding Root game strategy improved students rsquo vocabulary mastery as well as attracted students rsquo enthusiasm and motivation. However the researchers suggest to the English teacher should be able to give particular occasion to conduct teaching and learning vocabulary using Breeding Root game strategy.
