Key Words Islamic boarding school nahwu learning Mambaus Sholihin is a khalafi Islamic boarding school that still develop the traditional pattern in its learning and prioritizing nahwu as an academic qualification students. The purpose of this study is to describe the educational background of nahwu teachers the purpose of nahwu learning teaching materials methods media and evaluation of nahwu learning at Mambaus Sholihin Islamic Boarding School Suci Manyar Gresik. This study used a qualitative descriptive plan. The location of research is at Mambaus Sholihin Islamic Boarding School Jl. K.H. Syafi i No. 07 Suci Manyar-Gresik. The research data in the form of field notes that are collected and obtained from observation interviews and documentation. Researcher is the main instrument and assisted with observation guidelines as auxiliary instruments interviews and questionnaires. Datasource of this study are Mambaus Sholihin Islamic Boarding School Leader Nahwu teachers and students. Complementary data sources are nahwu teachers data schedule value list and the purpose of nahwu learning and another data that associated with the research object. Study results of (1) 16 nahwu teachers background at Mambaus Sholihin Islamic Boarding School Putri Thobaqoh Ula are 5 non PBA bachelors 8 non PBA fourth semester college students and 3 PBA fourth semester college students (2) the purposes of nahwu learning at Mambaus Sholihin Islamic Boarding School Putri are that students are able to memorize the rules of nahwu and nadzam-nadzam Imrithi understand classic books the Quran and arabic religious books (3) teaching materials of nahwu learning at Mambaus Sholihin Islamic Boarding School Putri Thobaqoh Ula are Matan Jurumiyah by Syaikh Mustofa As Saqo Matan Jurumiyah book by Ahmad Zaini Dahlan and Nadzmul Imrithi by Syaikh Syarifuddin Yahya Al Imrithi (4) nahwu learning methods nahwu at Mambaus Sholihin Islamic Boarding School Putri Thobaqoh Ula are metode deduktif induktif ceramah dan gramatika terjemah (5) nahwu learning media nahwu at Mambaus Sholihin Islamic Boarding School Putri are blackboards markers mosque drums and microphone (6) nahwu learning evaluations evaluasi at Mambaus Sholihin Islamic Islamic Boarding School Putri are held in arabic writing test and speaking. Suggestions that can be submitted from the study and research discussion are in order to (1) nahwu s teachers can use more varies methods and media so students have more passion to study nahwu often train students to read and translate arabic books and make a sentence in accordance with the rules (2) chairman and board of boarding school can untuk provide adequate facilities and infrastructure that can improve the quality of learning nahwu (3) students are ii more passion and focus in the study nahwu more active to ask teachers often practice reading translating some books and make simple sentences in Arabic.
