Key words English Textbook International Standard Junior High Schools in Malang This study is conducted in order to analyze the English textbook used in international standard schools in Malang. Specifically this study aims at analyzing (1) the aims and approaches of the textbook (2) the organization of the textbook (3) the language content of the textbook (4) the language skills in the textbook (5) the topics of the textbook (6) the methodology of the textbook and (7) the practical consideration of the textbook This is a descriptive evaluative study which focuses on content analysis design that attempts to analyze the English textbook used for the seventh graders of international standard school in Malang. The techniques of data collection used are scoring rubric for textbook evaluation interview guide and questionnaire. In term of aims of approaches the textbook is categorized as fair with the total score percentage 71.25%. Secondly in terms of organization the textbook is categorized as fair with the total percentage 60%. Next in terms of language content the textbook is categorized as fair with the total percentage 55%. Thirdly in terms of language skills the textbook is categorized as fair with the total percentage 59%. Fourthly in terms of the topic of the textbook is categorized as fair with the total percentage 61%. Next in terms of the methodology of the textbook the textbook is categorized as fair with the total percentage 71.7%. Lastly in terms of practical considerations the textbook is categorized as fair with the total percentage 66.7 %. It can be concluded that the textbook used for the seventh graders of international standard schools in Malang in general has fairly met the criteria of a good EFL textbook since the total percentage that describe the fulfillment of the textbook towards the criteria of good EFL textbook is 63.52%. It means that the textbook is relatively suitable to be used as a reference or media for the teacher in learning and teaching process. Based on the findings the researcher suggests that the writer of the textbook should improve the quality of the textbook by considering several aspects in the textbook. The textbook publishers should also be more selective in choosing the textbooks the will publish and do some thorough editing before publishing them. The English teachers of seventh graders of international standard schools need to consider finding other alternative materials and resources to teach their students. For other researchers who may conduct studies on the similar topic about textbook used in international junior high schools it is suggested that the next researchers should make more careful consideration in selecting the criteria of textbook evaluation.
