Kata Kunci Problem Based Learning Berlatar Studi Lapangan Kemampuan Berpikir Spasial Siswa. Kemampuan berpikir spasial perlu dikembangkan pada mata pelajaran geografi di sekolah. Kemampuan berpikir spasial ini dapat dikembangkan menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning berlatar studi lapangan. Model pembelajaran problem based learning berlatar studi lapangan bisa digunakan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa. Tahapan dari model pembelajaran problem based learning berlatar studi lapangan tersebut terdiri dari 1) orientasi pada masalah 2) mengorganisasi siswa untuk nelajar 3) membimbing penyelidikan individu atau kelompok 4) merumuskan jawaban 5) mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning berlatar studi lapangan terhadap kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancangan eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitian berupa post test only control group. Penelitian dilakukan pada dua kelas dengan menggunkan perlakuan dalam belajar yang berbeda. Kedua kelas tersebut yaitu kelas kontrol da kelas eksperimen. Kelas kontrol menggunakan perlakuan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Sedangkan kelas eksperimen menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning berlatar studi lapangan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X IPS SMA Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal essay tes kemampuan berpikir spsial. Data diolah menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 16 for windows. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji-t untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning berlatar studi lapangan terhadap kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa model pembelajaran problem based learning berlatar studi lapangan berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir sapsial siswa. Temuan ini dibuktikan dengan uji-t yang telah dilakukan. Signifikasi hasil uji-t sebesar 0 030 0 05 dengan kata lain H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yang artinya model pembelajaran problem based learning berlatar studi lapangan berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa kelas X IPS pada mata pelajaran geografi di SMA Laboratorium Uniersitas Negeri Malang. Keywords Problem Based Learning set in field studies Student Spatial Thinking Ability. The spatial think ability needs to be developed on geographic subjects at school. This spatial think ability can be developed using model of problem based learning set in field studies. The model of problem based learning set in the field of study can be used to develop students spatial thinking ability. The stepe of the model problem based learning set in field studies consist of 1) orientation to the problem 2) organizing students to learn 3) guiding individual or group investigations 4) formulating answers 5) evaluating problem solving processes. This study aims to determine the effect of models problem based learning set in field studies on students spasial thinking abilities. This study used a quasi experimental design method with a research design in the form of a post test only control group. The study was conducted in two classes using different learning treatments. Both classes are the control class and the experimental class. The control class uses treatment using conventional learning models. While the experimental class uses a problem based learning learning model based on field studies. The research subjects were students of class X IPS High School Laboratory of State University of Malang. The research instrument was in the form of an essay test of the spatial thinking ability. Processed of data using by SPSS 16 for Windows application. The data analysis technique used the t-test to determine the effect of the model problem based learning set in field studies on students spatial thinking abilities. The results showed that the learning model of problem based learning in the field of study influenced the students spatial thinking ability. This finding is proven by the t-test that has been carried out. Significance of the t-test results is 0.030
