Penelitianinidilakukan dengan pendekatan single subject research (SSR)desain A-B-A yang menggunakan satu subjekpenelitian.Prosedurdesain A-B-Ayaituvariabelterikatberupakemampuanmembacapermulaandiukursecaraberkelanjutanpadakondisibaseline-1(A1) sampai data stabil kemudianpadakondisiintervensi(B)diberikanintervensiberupaMind Mapping dengankartu kata bergambarsampai data stabil dandilanjutkanpengukuranpadakondisibaseline-2 (A2). Pengukuran baseline-2 dimaksudkansebagaikontroluntukmengambilkesimpulan. HasilpenelitianmenunjukkanbahwaintervensiberupaMind Mapping dengankartu kata bergambarmempunyaipengaruhpositifterhadapkemampuanmembacapermulaanpesertadidiktunarungukelas 1 SDLBN Kedungkandang. Hal iniberdasarkananalisisantarkondisipadaperubahanstabilitas perubahan level danoverlap. Kesimpulandaripenelitianiniadalah (1) kemampuanmembacapermulaansubjekpenelitianpadakondisisebelumdiberikanintervensitergolongrendah (2) kemampuanmembacapermulaansubjekpenelitianmengalamipeningkatansetelahdiberikanintervensi dan (3) terdapatpengaruhMind Mapping dengankartu kata bergambarterhadapkemampuanmembacapermulaanpesertadidiktunarungukelas 1 SDLBN Kedungkandang. Kata Kunci Mind Mapping Picture Word Card Early Reading and a Hard of Hearing The hearing process is very essential to the ability of early reading of the student with hearing impairment. The studenthas a limited vocabulary and difficulty interpreting abstract words. The purposes of this research are to describe (1) the ability of early reading for a hard of hearingstudent at the time before the intervention (2) the ability of early reading for a hard of hearingstudentafter the intervention and (3) the influence of mind mapping with pictureword card toward the ability of early reading for a hard of hearing student in class I SDLB NegeriKedungkandang. This research was conducted with a single subject research (SSR) with A-B-A design. This design procedure is the dependent variable in the term of the ability of early reading measured ongoing basis at the beginning of the baseline-1condition (A1) until the data is stable then the intervention condition (B) is given by Mind Mapping with picture word cards until the data is stable and continued measurements on baseline-2 condition(A2). Measurement of baseline-2 condition is intended as a control to make conclusions. These results indicate that there is a positive influence mind mapping with picture word card toward the ability of early reading for a hard of hearing student in class ISDLB NegeriKedungkandang. The conclusion of this study were (1) the ability of early readingof the research subject to a prior given intervention is low (2) the ability of early readingof the study subjects had increased after a given intervention and (3) there are the influence of mind mapping with pictureword card toward the ability of early reading for a hard of hearing student in class I SDLB NegeriKedungkandang. Based on these conclusions for Teachers are encouraged (1) to make Mind Mapping with picture word cards at the end of the discussion of the sub-theme in the hope that students can see the concept as a whole (2) to look for relationships among concepts and (3) to be able to sharpen the understanding and memory.
