SUMMARY Paramita, Dea Inayah. 2019. Development of the STAD Cooperative Model Learning Kit in the Critical Discourse Analysis Activity of Interaction with Living Environment Class VII Middle School. Thesis, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, State University of Malang. Supervisor: (I) Dra. Murni Saptasari, M.Sc (II) Drs. Triastono Imam Prasetyo, M.Pd. Keywords: Learning Tools, STAD Cooperative Model, Critical Discourse Analysis Teacher-centered conventional learning is currently considered insufficient to achieve learning objectives. Evidenced by the scores achieved by students in the evaluation conducted. The learning model has an important role in making learning activities effective in the classroom. Learning tools also support the delivery of a material. The learning tools include Core Competencies (KI), Basic Competencies (KD), indicators, learning objectives, teaching materials, learning models, learning resources, learning activities, student worksheets, and assessment rubrics arranged in the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP). The Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) Cooperative Learning Model has 5 syntaxes, namely conveying goals and motivating students, conveying information, organizing students in groups, evaluating, and giving awards. STAD can be implemented in the activity of critically analyzing a discourse. Learning media that are easy to get are discourses. A discourse is a series of words or speech acts that express a subject regularly and systematically. The activity of analyzing has the aim of obtaining meaning in detail both implicitly or explicitly in a discourse. This research and development uses the Four-D development model developed by Thiagarajan et al (1920). Which consists of: the first stage of defining or defining, the second stage of design, the third stage of development, and the fourth stage of dissemination. Research data in the form of qualitative data and quantitative data. The data was obtained from the results of validation by material experts, learning, teachers, and students in product trials in small groups. Qualitative data are in the form of comments and suggestions, while quantitative data are in the range of a scale of 1-4 (rating scale) which are also filled in through validation sheets given directly to the respondent. The data obtained were then analyzed using the percentage validity formula. Data and results of data analysis obtained have been used to revise or improve the product being developed. Based on the results obtained conclusions about the products that have been developed can be used in learning activities by making improvements in the parts that are still considered lacking.
