RINGKASAN Belang, Edigiana Teresia Nini. 2018. Studi Pemahaman Konsep dan Algoritma Siswa Kelas XII MIPA SMA Malang pada Topik Larutan Buffer. Skripsi. Jurusan Kimia, Fakultas Matematika dan ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Negeri Malang. Pembimbing: (I) Dr.DarsonoSigit,M.Pd., (II) Dr. Sumari, M.Si. Kata Kunci: pemahaman konsep, pemahaman algoritma, larutan buffer. Salah satu topik ilmu kimia yang diajarkan pada siswa SMA kelas XI program MIPA semester Genap adalahlarutanbuffer. Topik ini meliputi sifat larutan buffer, komponen larutan buffer, pembuatan larutan buffer, pH larutan buffer, cara kerja larutan buffer setelah penambahan sedikit asam,basa, dan pengenceran, peran larutan buffer dalam tubuh makluk hidup. Untuk dapat memahami topik larutan buffer secara utuh diperlukan pemahaman konsep, pemahaman algoritma. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui dan mengklasifikasikan pemahaman konsep dan algoritma siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Malang pada topik larutan buffer yang dirinci dalam kategori: (a) benar konsep dan algoritma (BKBA), (b) benar konsep tetapi salah algoritma (BKSA), (c) salah konsep tetapi benar algoritma (SKBA), (d) salah konsep dan algoritma (SKSA); (2) menguji ada atau tidaknya hubungan antara pemahaman konsep dan pemahaman algoritma siswa kelas XII MIPA SMA 4 Malang pada materi larutan buffer. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian deskriptif dan korelasional. Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua kelas siswa kelas XII MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Malang yang terdiri dari 90 siswa. Istrumen yang dipakai pada penelitian ini adalah tes diagnostik pilihan ganda beralasan terbuka berupa 9 soal pemahaman konsep dan 9 soal pemahaman algoritma. Tes memiliki validitas isi sebesar 89% dan reliabilitas 0,86. Data dianalisis dengan uji korelasi menggunakan uji Pearson. Hasil uji korelasi menunjukan bahwa nilai koefisien korelasi 0,317 > 0,05 dengan nilai signifikansinya 0,013<0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa (1) presentase siswa kelas XII MIPA SMA 4 Malang yang : (a) benar konsep dan algoritma sebanyak 29%, (b) benar soal konsep tetapi salah algoritma sebanyak 14%, (c) salah konsep tetapi benar algoritma sebanyak 16%, (d) salah konsep dan salah algoritma sebanyak 41%; (2) terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara pemahaman konsep dan algoritma siswa kelas XII MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Malang, tetapi hubungan antara keduanya masih tergolong rendah. Keyword(s): concepts understanding, algorithmic understanding, buffer solution. One of chemistry topics in even semester for grade XI science program senir high school students is buffer solution. This topic including thenature of the buffer solution, buffer solution making, pH buffer solution, how the buffer solution works after a little acid, base and dilution, the role of the buffer in the body of living things. To be able to understand fully the buffer solution topic, it is necessary to understand the concept, algorithm understanding. The purpose of this study are (1) knowing and classifying the concept understanding and algorithm understanding of grade XII math and science program senior high school on buffer solution topic of the categories: (a) true about concepts and true algorithm (BKBA), (b) true concept but false in algorithm (BKSA), (c) true algorithm, but false in concept (SKBA), (d) false in concepts and algorithm (SKSA); (2) examine whether there is any correlation between concep understanding and algorithm understanding of grade XII math and science students state senior high school 4 Malang in buffer solusion topic. Research conducted using descriptive and correlational research design. Subjects of this descriptive research were two classes of students of grade XII of MIPA at Malang State High School 4 consisting of 60 students . The instrument used in this study was an open-minded multiple-choice diagnostic test in the form of 9 concepts questions and 9 algorithms understanding questions. The value of validity is 89% and reliability of 0.86. Data were analyzed by correlation test using the Pearson test. Correlation test results show that the correlation coefficient value 0.317> 0.05 with a significance value of 0.013 < 0.05. The results showed that (1) the percentage of grade XII Math and Science Students of Malang state High Scool 4 in buffer solution topic that: (a) true about concepts and algorithm as much as 29%, (b) true about concepts and wrong algorithmic as much as 14%, (c) false about concepts and true algorithm by 16%, (d) false concepts and wrong algorithm by 41%; (2) there is a positive and significant relationship between concepts understanding and algorithms of Grade XII Math and Science Students of state High Scool 4 Malang, but the relationship between of them is still relatively low.
