ABSTRACT Sulistiawati Diana Ayu. 2019.Yellow Pumpkin and Alms of the Earth as an Inspiration for the Creation of a Typical Batik Dye Batik Motif of Tuban Department of Art and Design Faculty of Letters Malang State University. Advisor (I) Dr. Ponimin M. Hum (II) Lisa Sidyawati S.Pd M.Pd. Keywords Pumpkin Creation Batik Tuban has a fairly productive agricultural land even though almost all of Tuban has a dry climate but with the support of water sources that are able to meet the needs of irrigation. Types of plants found in Tuban one of which is Yellow Waluh. Yellow pumpkin plants are often found on earth alms events. Yellow pumpkin in a series of earth alms events has a value of beauty in each part. So the reason why Yellow Waluh is the chosen theme is because so far the batik works created by Tuban batik creators have never created a yellow-patterned batik. So the author wants to introduce the typical motif of Tuban by means of batik which can be seen not only from its beauty but also from the stories contained in the batik so that the author s choice to develop pure batik with yellow pumpkin motifs combined with earth alms is very appropriate but it also can also preserving culture through batik. The ideas or ideas of work from earth alms culture and yellow wallets are manifested in pure written batik. This research aims to produce methods and the results of the creation of written batik originating from the idea of 8203 8203 the yellow pumpkin and Tuban alms culture. To achieve this it is obtained from an in-depth study of the meaning and form of these elements which are potential to be processed into concepts and realized in the form of innovative written batik. Gustami SP cleverly and consciously made the creation process into three pillars. Of course among the three main pillars of the creation process is followed by an intermediate process such as the study of source ideas the realization of concepts describing problems and finding solutions to then develop into a desired design. The author presents 6 pieces of written batik with the concept of a series of earth alms cultural activities. Of the six works each of them is entitled (1) Fertility of Tuban Land (2) NgunduhWaluh (3) Manganan (4) Gugur Gunung (Community Service) (5) GununganSedekah Bumi (6) Tayub. Creation is expected to provide new experiences to the creator and others in learning the written batik art. Starting from the design of concepts to the visualization process of the work and the description of the work based on the personal viewpoint of the author and the viewpoint of others. As well as providing a view that alms culture of the earth is a local culture of Tuban that can be developed and contains aesthetic value in it. By raising the cultural theme of WaluhKuning and Alms Earth Tuban through the author s perspective it is hoped that it can become a discourse for every Indonesian citizen to better appreciate the local culture of Indonesia. Especially for the people of Tuban to develop these traditions.
