ABSTRAK Tuhardjo 2008 Hubungan Pengalaman Pembelajaran Fungsi Utama Bisnis dan Suksesi Bisnis dengan Strategi Bersaing dan Kinerja Bisnis pada Sentra Industri Kecil Onix dan Marmer di Tulungagung. Kata kunci Pengalaman pembelajaran fungsi utama bisnis suksesi bisnis successor dan successe industri kecil strategi bersaing dan kinerja bisnis. Di Indonesia pentingnya industri kecil ditunjukkan oleh perannya di dalam penciptaan kesempatan kerja sumber pertumbuhan ekonomi dan penciptaan devisa melalui eksport. Namun dalam perkembangannya industri kecil sering menghadapi masalah baik internal maupun eksternal. Kendala internal terkait dengan kepemilikan sumberdaya baik aset financial dan aset intelektual kendala eksternal terkait dengan keterbatasan untuk akses ke lembaga keuangan yang kesemuanya memiliki dampak pada strategi bersaing dan pencapaian kinerja bisnis yang unggul. Penelitian ini pada dasarnya bertujuan untuk mengeksplanasi hubungan pengukuran dan hubungan struktural antara konstruk pengalaman pembelajaran fungsi utama bisnis dan suksesi bisnis dengan strategi bersaing dan kinerja bisnis. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan memberikan rekomendasi berdasarkan temuan-temuan penelitian yang relevan dengan kepentingan pengembangan industri kecil onix dan marmer sesuai sumberdaya yang dimiliki. Penelitian yang dikategorikan penelitian kausalitas ini menggunakan pendekatan survey cross sectional dengan menekankan pada keterhubungan antar konstruk atau variable laten. Analisis yang digunakan adalah Structural Equation Model (SEM) mengingat konstruk yang diteliti menunjukkan hubungan kausal yang kompleks dan tersusun atas beberapa dimensi dengan multiindikator. Populasi sebanyak 260 pengusaha dan diambil sebagai sampel 143 pengusaha secara purposive sampling. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang dikembangkan sendiri oleh peneliti dengan mengadopsi teori-teori yang relevan dengan konstruk penelitian. Important research findings are (1) good and bad of learning experience of business primary function more characteristic by good and bad in the learning experience of production function and marketing than financial function (2) good and bad of business succession implementation more characteristic by good and bad in the assets succession than management succession. (3) good and bad of competitive strategy implementation more characteristic by good and bad in the differentiation and focus strategy than cost leadership strategy implementation (4) good and bad of business performance level more characteristic by good and bad in the profitability ratio level than growth ratio (5) more wealthy of learning experience of business primary function more good the formulated and implemented competitive strategy (6) more wealthy of learning experience of business primary function not quickly will increasing business performance level (7) entrepreneurs that replace business ownership that more planned will have more good competitive strategy (8) entrepreneurs that will replace business ownership that more planned not always have more good business performance and (9) entrepreneurs that have formulated and implemented more good competitive strategy will have good business performance. It is suggested for economy educational institution to involve in the incremental business competence for small entrepreneur based on material need analysis and fit learning model small industry must be consequence and consistent to developed of willingness and learn capabilities because learning is integral part of work place. Learning can do with learning by doing and learning from others. All of these expectation can leverage of competence in business for small entrepreneur.
