The research design of this study is qualitative which was done through two stages namely the subject selection stage which intended to find out EFL students who established good English reading habits and the main study stage which aimed at describing factors that contribute to the EFL students good English reading habits. The subjects of this study are students of the English Department of state universities in East Java. The results of this study reveal that reading motivation of the EFL students which is supported with good literacy environment parents reading aloud phenomenal literary works such as Harry Potter series box office movies and good reading habits in L1 contribute to the establishment of the EFL students good English reading habits. In addition the Internet contrary to criticism of its negative effects has actually contributed much in enhancing good English reading habits in a vast world through its speed and convenience. Since this study is qualitatively done to find out factors contributing the EFL students good English reading habits it does not reveal the tendency and the degree of the correlation of each factor. Accordingly these limitations can be taken into account as the basis to conduct further studies. Another limitation of this study is the representativeness of the EFL students. This study did not include the students of Elementary school Junior High school Senior High school and those of non English Department who study English as their foreign language. Therefore a further study which involves more representative EFL students in Indonesia is suggested to be conducted as well. However the result of this study can be used as underlying inspiration for English teachers parents and librarians to assist the EFL students establishment of good English reading habits.
