Keywords contextual teaching project-based learning approach understanding of economic activity. Understanding of economic activity for social subject by grade IV pupils of SDN Klodan IV still pertained to lower. Low understanding of the pupils because process of social study applied in SDN Klodan IV still in conventional that is giving concept giving examples and also practics problems These are causing pupil tend to memorize the concept and work by procedural. Therefore require to be created a condition of study able to assist the pupil to find by themself the way of finishing problem faced by the pupil of pursuant to experience and reality had. One of approach in social study strarting study by performing project matching with experience and mount the pupil knowledge is study contextual based on project approach. This research aim to get (1)Model device learn project to increase the understanding of student about economic activity. (2) Steps of study model device learn project in crease of understanding students about economic activity at grade IV of SDN Klodan IV.(3) Description of learning grade IV pupil result of SDN Klodan IV at economic activity discussion through the study project model. To reach the the target hence researcher design a classroom action research of action executed of grade IV pupils SDN Klodan IV Nganjuk Regency. Research data obtained from early test result activity perception learn the pupil and activity teach the teacher result final test pupil and interview with the pupil result. Of this research in the form of cycle step consisted of four phase that is planning action observation and reflection. This research is executed in 3 (three) cycle. Research finding got at cycle I indicate that in the early study pupils cannot work in the group to finish their project and difficult to question about product activity consumption activity and product activity. In cycle II focus to comprehension improve of study about activity of production distribution and consumption pupils can cooperation to finish their project but difficult to question about product activity . Cycle III focus to comprehension improve product activity cooperate between pupils can finish their project. Model device learn project in this research (1) preparation (2) determining topic (3) plan activity (4) investigation and presentation (5) making report (6) Evaluation. Model learn project in this research is started by grouping pupils amount of group member is 4-5 pupils second focus in project by preparing the source of information about economic activity in industry and market of tempe third pupils work in group to finish project fourth group report result of job/activity this product is map conception about economic activity and process of tempe last student publicize result of its team-work. Pursuant to research result of cycle I cycle II and cycle III of learning economic activity items pupils by using learn project model show the existence of the make-up of average value from cycle I to cycle hereinafter (a) Percentage of pupils test increase that is from 71 becoming 75 75 and becoming 80 25 (b) Percentage of activity efficacy teach the teacher are increase that is from 72 5% becoming 76 2% and becoming 81 6% (c) Average value of pupil activity increase that is from 74% becoming 81% and becoming 86 6%. Pupil show the good respond. Such us (a) Pupil become more enthusiastic or spirit to following study activity (b) By conducting activity matching with their experience everyday study process become more interesting (c) Learntly team can be happened the worthwhile discussion activity happened the social interaction interaction think between pupil among pupil with the teacher happened the good cooperation between group member in finishing duties given in spread sheet pupil Although study execution with project model have been executed good enoughly there are some constraint faced for example (a) Management of time in study is diffcult to conducted so that have planned better. (b) Pupils are accustomed with the discussion activity yet and learn the group cause the discussion activity effectiveless. (c) Accustoming student not to fear to report result of its group discussion. Based of this research result suggested the followings (1) Instruction of social study in elementary school teacher better don t only fetching up all standing in class but also can be outside class with visit project. (2) Design of project model for social study because using project model can to help pupils entangle all nerve and physical which including efficiency of social. (3) Instruction of social study about live in pupils around using project model because project can help represent medium to development of brain by together. (4) Teacher in instruction project model don t to get much of help because can down pupils creativity and can make lazy pupils think. (5) High light Management of time in instruction project model in order to plan activity can good work.
