Keywords representational skill reflective self assessment science literacy The 5E learning cycle The 5E Learning Cycle (The 5E LC) is a learning that can increase the concepts mastery of student. A good concept mastery cannot be separated from students ability in representing the concepts obtained. The concept mastery science literacy students. Stages in learning the 5E LC provide opportunities for students to construct their own understanding. The development of students skills in each stage of the 5E LC can be seen from reflective self assessment (RSA) through each step during the learning process. This study aims to determine the representational skill and science literacy students through The 5E Learning Cycle with Relective Self Assessment. This research was used mixed method with embedded experimental design by involving research 20 students of grade VII SMP Negeri 2 Ngantru Tulungagung in the even semester 2016/2017 as the subjects. The data of the research were qualitative data in the form of student work result on LKS quiz and quantitative data in the form of pretest and posttest scores to see the improvement of students representational and science literacy skills. Techniques of collecting data were in the form of documentation during observation important notes during the learning process observation sheet of implementation of learning student worksheets questionnaires and test items. Quantitative data analysis used paired sample t-test normalized gain score and effect size. The data were also analyzed qualitatively by data reduction encoding data presentation and conclusion. The results showed that (1) The students representational skill was improved. Representation capability of students after learning the 5E LC with RSA is better than before. The students representational skill varies within each category. (2) The science literacy skill of thestudents was improved. The students science literacy skills was better than before implementing the 5E LC with RSA. The students were able to use the appropriate concept in solving the problem. (3) The 5E LC learning with RSA affected the students representational and science literacy skills. The students representational and science literacy skills were improving because follow the engagement exploration explanation elaboration and evaluation activities during the lesson.
