Kata kunci group investigation berpikir kritis hasil belajar Group Investigation (GI) merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran kooperatif yang melibatkan siswa dalam kelompok kecil. Model Group Investigation dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis serta pemahaman siswa. Hal ini karena siswa secara langsung memilih topik merencanakan proses investigasi melakukan investigasi menyiapkan laporan mempresentasikan penemuan mereka serta melakukan evaluasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Group Investigation terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa SMA pada materi pelestarian lingkungan hidup dalam kaitannya dengan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas XI IPS 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPS 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Subjek penelitian ditentukan berdasarkan nilai rata-rata ujian akhir semester satu. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu (Quasi Experiment) dengan desain penelitian Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa diukur dengan menggunakan tes esai dan hasil belajar diukur dengan tes pilihan ganda. Data hasil pengukuran dianalisis dengan menggunakan t-test dengan bantuan program SPSS 16.0 for Windows. Data dari hasil pretest dan posttest pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol akan memperoleh data gain score. Data gain score diperoleh dari pengurangan hasil tes akhir dan tes awal. Gain score menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Saran bagi 1) guru disarankan untuk menggunakan model pembelajaran Group Investigation pada materi pelestarian lingkungan hidup dalam kaitannya dengan pembangunan berkelanjutan dan memanfaatkan lingkungan sekolah sebagai sumber belajar. 2) sekolah disarankan untuk melakukan pelatihan-pelatihan kepada guru-guru tentang pentingnya penggunaan model pembelajaran dalam pembelajaran dan menyiapkan tempat sampah 3) Pemerintah Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara disarankan untuk membuat saluran irigasi melakukan penanaman pohon dan melindungi hutan-hutan. 4) peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk dalam penelitian dapat menambah variabel lain dan dapat dilakukan pada materi lain. The Model Group Investigationcan be improving the learning result and to develop critical thinking ability and understanding of the students because the students directly selecting topics planning the process of investigation conduct investigations prepare reports presenting their findings and evaluate. This study aims to determine the effect of the learning model of Group Investigation of the ability of critical thinking and learning result of high school students on environmental preservation material in relation to sustainable development. Research subjects consisted of two classes namely class XI IPS 1 as experimental class and XI IPS 2 as control class. Research subjects are determined based on the average score of the final exam of the first semester. The design used in this research is (quasi experiment)with Research design a Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The students critical thinking skills are measured by using essay tests and learning outcomes are measured by multiple choice tests. The measurement data were analyzed using t-test with the help of SPSS 16.0 for Windows program. The result of data from the pretest and posttest in the experimental class and control class to obtain data gain score. The data obtained from the reduction gain score final test results and preliminary tests.Gain score indicates that the critical thinking ability and student learning outcomes experimental class is higher than the control class. Based on these results it canbe concluded that the learning model of Group Investigation affect the critical thinking skills and students learning outcomes in high school. Suggestions for 1) the teacher it is recommended to use a learning model of Group Investigation on material environmental preservation as a proven effect on critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes.2) For the Schools it is advisable to conduct trainings to teachers on the importance of using learning models in learning and preparing trash cans. 3) North Central Timor District Government it is recommended to create irrigation canals plant trees and protect forests .4) Further researcher it is suggested for the research can add another variable and can be done on other material.
