Abstract

Nowadays there is new paradigm in teaching and learning process especially the way teacher teach students in class. The different concept is about pengajaran to pembelajaran. Generally pengajaran is more emphasizing on teacher s role in class (teacher center) while the condition of pembelajaran is on the opposite of it (students center). In fact there are many teachers using the old concept as the lack of knowledge so as in SMPN 4 Malang especially in geography class. Based on the observation done informally indicate that only 75 % students willing to answer question (shortly) given by the teacher. On the other hand 85% of the teachers use traditional method of teaching. Thus the effect of it 81 % or 35 from 43 students said know nothing about the material of the day. Indeed we can say that the creativity of the students still in low level. The objective of this research is knowing the description of Cooperative Learning using reporting technique in enhancing creativity of the F IX grade students of SMPN 4 Malang. Furthermore it is also to know (1) the characteristic of SMPN 4 Malang as the background of the research (2) what kind of effort to enhance students willing to speak by using cooperative learning reporting technique (3) effort in enhancing students creativity by using cooperative learning reporting technique in grade IX F SMPN 4 Malang. This research has been designed by Classroom Action Research based on problem that has been found in SMPN 4 Malang. The reflection of it has been analyzed by the characteristic of classroom action research. Finally action was taken to improve the condition or the quality of teaching and learning process with Cooperative Learning reporting technique in that school. The aim of this research was trying to answer the research questions dealing with efforts in enhancing students to speak and creativity by using strategy cooperative learning reporting technique in the F class of IX students SMPN 4 Malang. The application of Cooperative Learning reporting technique was hoped to enhance the active learning that enable students to speak or to ask and answer questions to give comment to criticize. The result showed that reporting technique had successful enhancing students creativity and the development of students daring to speak in every cycle showed positive effect. The implication of this research has also to answer the usefulness of classroom action research theoretically can be applied in educational world and innovatively cooperative learning reporting technique can be used as new technique. Based on finding in this research advice given to all geography s teachers to enhance the quality of teaching and learning process by creating activity which give many chances for students to (1) discuss essential ecological geography so that they can ask answer and give ideas focusing on geographical differences equalities (2) train students to ask answer debate criticize comment about geographical facts distribution (3) train students to respect others (4) train students to solve geographical problems and concepts.
