Pembelajaran efektif dan bermakna harus dapat diterapkan pada kondisi siswa dengan berbagai karakteristik yang berbeda. Hal ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh hasil yang maksimal baik dalam aspek pengetahuan keterampilan dan sikap. Brain Based Teaching Approach (BBTA) menyakini bahwa tingkah laku seseorang dipengaruhi oleh cara kerja otak itu sendiri. Teori BBTA dapat mengakomodasi setiap siswa yang mempunyai karakteristik yang beragam dalam kelas sehingga sistem pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan mewujudkan pembelajaran yang efektif dan bermakna. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk (1) mengetahui perbedaan Brain Based Teaching Approach (BBTA) dan Problem Based Learning PBL dalam hal penguasaan konsep dan berpikir kreatif (2) mengetahui perbandingan penguasaan konsep fisika pada BBTA dan PBL (3) mengetahui perbandingan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada BBTA dan PBL. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan faktorial 2x2 posttest only control group design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas X SMA Tunas Luhur Paiton Probolinggo tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Pengambilan sampel penelitian dilakukan berdasarkan cluster random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian meliputi instrumen perlakuan berupa RPP dan LKS materi listrik dinamis serta instrumen pengukuran penelitian yaitu instrumen penguasaan konsep dan instrumen berpikir kreatif. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif dan manova satu jalur. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut (1) Terdapat perbedaan penguasaan konsep dan berpikir kreatif siswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran BBTA dan siswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran PBL dengan Fhitung (28 290) Ftabel (3 068). (2) penguasaan konsep fisika siswa lebih tinggi belajar dengan BBTA daripada belajar dengan PBL (Qhitung (7 904) Qtabel (2 878)) (3) keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa lebih tinggi belajar dengan BBTA daripada belajar dengan PBL (Qhitung (7 812) Qtabel (2 878)). Effective and meaningful learning should be applicable to students conditions with different characteristics. This is doing to obtain maximum results both in aspects of knowledge skills and attitudes. Brain Based Teaching Approach (BBTA) believes that a person s behavior is influenced by how the brain works itself. The theory of BBTA can accommodate every student who has various characteristics in the classroom so that the learning system implemented to realize effective and meaningful learning. This research was conducted to (1) know the difference of Brain Based Teaching Approach (BBTA) and Problem Based Learning PBL in terms of mastery of concept and creative thinking (2) to know comparative mastery of physics concept on BBTA and PBL (3) to know the ratio of students creative thinking ability to BBTA and PBL. This research is a quasi experiment with factorial design of 2x2 posttest only control group design. The subjects of this study were all students of grade X SMA Tunas Luhur Paiton 2014/2015. Research sampling was conducted based on cluster random sampling. Instruments used in the research include treatment instruments in the form of RPP and LKS dynamic electrical materials as well as instrument of measurement research that is concept mastery instrument and instrument of creative thinking. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive statistics and one-way manova. The results of this study are as follows (1) There is a difference of mastery of the physics concept and creative thinking skills of students learning with BBTA learning and students learning with PBL learning with Fhitung (28 290) Ftabel (3 068) (2) mastery of the physics concept of higher students learning with BBTA than with PBL learning (Qhitung (7 904) Qtabel (2 878)) (3) students creative thinking skills higher learning with BBTA than with PBL learning (Qhitung (7 812) Qtable (2 878)).
