SUMMARY Weny Eka Yanita 2018. Developing an Argumentative Writing Workbook as Supplementary Materials for Writing IV at The English Study Education Program of STKIP PGRI Pasuruan. Thesis the English Language Education School Graduate Program State University of Malang. Advisors (I) Prof. Dr. Nur Mukminatien M.Pd. (II) Drs. Fachrurrazy M.A Ph.D. Key Words argumentative writing workbook supplementary materials This study was designed and conducted to develop an argumentative writing workbook as supplementary materials for English Education Study Program of STKIP PGRI Pasuruan. The design used in developing the workbook was the adaption model of development by Borg and Gall (2003). The procedure employed in this study was need assessment planning product development product validation first revision implementation and final product revision. The data were taken by using several instruments such as document analysis interview guide and questionnaire. The data from needs analysis were analyzed using frequencies and percentages. The result of needs analysis was used as the underlying reason for developing the workbook. After being developed the workbook was then evaluated by the experts. The data included the experts evaluation dealing with aim and approaches content activities language and format. The results of the data analysis from the expert validation indicated that there were some strong and weak points of the developed workbook. First revision is the activity conducted by the researcher after analyzing the result of expert validation. In this step the researcher makes correction addition and changing based on the feedback and comments from the experts. The purpose of implementation is to know the effective and efficient delivery of the product. Final product revision is conducted after the implementation step. Based on the result of implementation of the product the workbook can be accepted by the students. It is recommended for the students to use the workbook as a supplementary materials to enhance their writing ability in argumentative essay. The lecturer can assign the students to use the workbook as main materials in the class under the guidance of the lecturer or use the workbook outside the class independently.
