Keywords: Factors, Introvert, Speaking Performance This research used descriptive qualitative research design specifically was a case study. It investigated factors affecting introvert students in speaking performance done in the undergraduate program in State University of Malang. The subject of the study was third semester ELT students enrolled in the Speaking for Formal Interactons course. The instruments used to reveal studentsÔÇÖ factors were personality questionnaire, studentsÔÇÖ speaking documents, speaking test, and interview guide. The data were analyzed descriptively through organizing and comparing with some related theories. The results of the analysis yielded four findings. All participants employed integrative and intrinsic motivation to improve their speaking skills. In terms of the choice of learning strategy, the first subject used metacognitive and affective learning strategy, the second subject mainly utilized affective learning strategy, while the third subject adopted cognitive an affectve learning strategy. Then, the influence of classmates gave the biggest impact on their mastery level than the teacher. Lastly, the researcher concluded that parentsÔÇÖ occupation and level of education had interconnection in giving impact to the studentsÔÇÖ speaking achievement. Based on the results of this study, some suggestions were made. For the speaking English lecturers in general, since every student is unique it is recommended that they select teaching method accordingly for a better output and learning process. For further researchers, it is recommended that they conduct the study on a similar topic with different research design or different studentsÔÇÖ level. Further researcher can also dig in deeper about the correlation between introvertsÔÇÖ good performance and their learning styles or investigate deeper how introverts are able to compete with extroverts and overcome their learning barriers.
