M.A. Keywords achievement motivation academicself-efficacy speaking performance This quantitative study employs a correlational design that is to find out the relationship among achievement motivation academic self-efficacy and the students speaking performance. The aim of this study is obtaining the level of students achievement motivation academic self-efficacy and their speaking performance. This study also reveals the relationship between the variables. Two questionnaires with four likert-scale were used to measure the students level in this study. They were adaptation of 25 items Contextual Achievement Motivation questionnaire and 20 items of Morgan-Jinks Student Efficacy Scale. To measure the students speaking performance a teacher-made speaking test was used. The questionnaires and the speaking test were administered to 30 undergraduate second semester students of English Department of University of Brawijaya. Based on the result of the data analysis about the relationship among the variables some points could be concluded. First there was a significant average positive correlation between achievement motivation level and the students speaking performance level (r .688 sig. .00). Second the correlation between academic self-efficacy level and the students speaking performance level was a significant moderate positive correlation (r . 691 sig. .00). Third the relationship between achievement motivation combined with academic self-efficacy and the students speaking performance was statistically a significant high positive correlation since The result was significant (r 0.737 sig. .00). Regarding to the result of the students learning in the speaking class teachers are expected to be able to recognize their students academic self-efficacy in order to support and enhance the students ability in learning. The teachers should be closer to the students in order to build more academic self-efficacy beliefs of the students. Teachers are expected to encourage the students to be more open and share their difficulties in learning especially in the speaking class. Thus by having close communication between teachers and the students it is expected that the students problems during the learning process can be solved. The students achievement motivation and the students academic self-efficacy are expected to be higher and stronger in completing the course with high achievement. ABSTRAK Astuti Yuni. 2017. M.A. Kata Kunci motivasi berprestasi efikasi diri akademik kemampuan berbicara Penelitian dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional ini dilakukan untuk menjelaskan hubungan antara motivasi berprestasi efikasi-diri akademik dan kemampuan berbicara. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuisioner motivasi berprestasi yang terdiri dari 25 butir pernyataan dengan empat skala Likert yang diadaptasi dari Contextual Achievement Motivation Scale dan kuisioner efikasi diri akademik sebanyak 20 butir pernyataan dengan menggunakan empat skala Likert yang diadaptasi dari Morgan-Jinks Student Efficacy Scale untuk mengukur tingkat motivasi berprestasi and efikasi diri akademik siswa. Sebuah tes lisan yang dibuat oleh peneliti digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan berbicara siswa. Kuisioner dan tes lisan diberikan kepada 30 siswa yang berada di semester dua jurusan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Brwawijaya. Dari hasil analisa data dapat disimpulkan beberapa poin. Pertama motivasi berprestasi dan kemampuan berbicara siswa memiliki hubungan yang positif signifikan pada tingkat rata-rata dimana r .688 sig. .00. Kedua hubungan antara tingkat efikasi diri akademik dan tingkat kemampuan berbicara siswa adalah positif signifikan di tingkat sedang dengan r .691 sig. .00. Ketiga hubungan antara motivasi berprestasi bersamaan dengan efikasi diri akademik terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa adalah positif signifikan yang tinggi karena memiliki r 0.737 sig .00. Guru sebaiknya bisa menyadari dan mengetahui bahwa tiap siswa memiliki motivasi berprestasi and efikasi diri akademik yang berbeda-beda dalam kelas khususnya kelas Speaking dengan melakukan pendekatan terhadap siswa sehingga siswa dapat lebih terbuka untuk menyampaikan masalah yang dihadapi selama proses belajar di kelas agar dapat dicarikan solusinya. Berkaitan dengan hasil pembelajaran siswa para guru diharapkan dapat mendorong siswa untuk meningkatkan rasa percaya diri siswa dengan menjalin komunikasi lebih dekat dengan siswa di kelas Speaking sehingga siswa menjadi lebih percaya diri dalam menyelesaikan tugasnya. Selain itu dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar guru diharapkan menerapkan kegiatan yang bervariasi dalam mengajar untuk menstimulasi motivasi berprestasi dan meningkatkan efikasi diri akademik para siswa. Jadi guru juga diharapkan untuk memberikan dukungan dengan memotivasi dan menanamkan rasa keyakinan diri siswa dalam berprestasi terutama di kelas Speaking.
