Kata Kunci prestasi belajar pengasuhan orangtua disiplin belajar motivasi belajar. Gaya pengasuhan orang tua disiplin belajar dan motivasi belajar merupakan penentu prestasi belajar siswa. Sehubungan dengan itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis (1) hubungan antara gaya pengasuhan orang tua dengan prestasi belajar siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Malang (2) hubungan antara disiplin belajar dengan prestasi belajar siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Malang (3) hubungan antara motivasi belajar dengan prestasi belajar siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Malang (4) hubungan secara bersama-sama antara gaya pengasuhan orang tua disiplin belajar dan motivasi belajar dengan prestasi belajar siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Malang serta untuk mengetahui variabel mana yang paling dominan. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif yaitu suatu kegiatan mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data dalam bentuk angka-angka atau diangkakan. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan deskriptif korelasional (Fraenkel Wallen 1993) untuk menguji kemungkinan hubungan antara masing-masing variabel bebas yakni gaya pengasuhan orang tua disiplin belajar dan motivasi belajar siswa hubungannya dengan variabel terikat prestasi belajar siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X tahun pelajaran 2007/2008 pada SMA Negeri di Kota Malang yang berjumlah 2509 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik Cluster sampling (Area Sampling) agar tidak terjadi pemusatan di wilayah tertentu tetapi menyebar seluruh wilayah Kota Malang. Ukuran sampel ditentukan dengan menggunakan tabel Krejcie dimana perhitungan ukuran sampel didasarkan atas kesalahan 5%. Sampel yang diperoleh mempunyai kepercayaan 95% terhadap populasi bila jumlah populasi 1300 maka sampelnya 297. Pada penelitian ini jumlah populasi berdasarkan sampel sekolah adalah 1284 siswa dibulatkan menjadi 1300 siswa maka jumlah sampelnya adalah 297 siswa. Data gaya pengasuhan orang tua disiplin belajar dan motivasi belajar siswa dijaring dengan menggunakan instrumen kuesioner yang terlebih dahulu diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data prestasi belajar siswa diperoleh dari dokumen berupa buku rapor siswa kelas X semester genap tahun pelajaran 2007/2008. Selanjutnya data dikumpulkan dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik program komputer (SPSS 16.0) baik teknik analisis deskriptif uji kelayakan analisa korelasi Product Moment dan analisa regresi ganda untuk pembuktian hipotesis penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat ditarik kesimpulan sebagai berikut (1) gaya pengasuhan orangtua memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan prestasi belajar siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Malang (2) disiplin belajar memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan prestasi belajar siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Malang (3) motivasi belajar memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan prestasi belajar siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Malang dan (4) secara simultan (bersama-sama) gaya pengasuhan orang tua disiplin belajar dan motivasi belajar siswa memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan prestasi belajar siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Malang artinya bahwa prestasi belajar siswa tidak dapat dilepaskan dengan aktivitas gaya pengasuhan orang tua disiplin belajar dan motivasi belajar. Sumbangan efektif gaya pengasuhan orang tua terhadap prestasi belajar siswa sebesar 12 3% motivasi belajar siswa terhadap prestasi belajar siswa sebesar 6 4% dan disiplin belajar siswa terhadap prestasi belajar siswa sebesar 6 0%. Dalam hal ini gaya pengasuhan orang tua lebih dominan peranannya terhadap prestasi belajar siswa dibandingkan dengan disiplin belajar dan motivasi belajar. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian di atas disampaikan saran-saran sebagai berikut (1) dalam rangka pengembangan ilmu Manajemen Pendidikan untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Malang perlu upaya yang lebih intensif berkaitan dengan gaya pengasuhan orang tua disiplin belajar dan motivasi belajar siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Malang secara bersama-sama (2) Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Jawa Timur maupun Kota Malang agar senantiasa memberikan pembinaan kepada Kepala Sekolah berkaitan dengan peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa (3) Pengawas Sekolah di Kota Malang agar tetap menjalin hubungan kerja yang konstruktif dengan Kepala Sekolah dan guru-guru dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa gaya pengasuhan orang tua disiplin belajar dan menumbuhkan motivasi belajar siswa yang sesuai di SMA Negeri Kota Malang (4) Kepala SMA Negeri di Kota Malang agar tetap memberikan pembinaan/bimbingan kepada guru dalam hal penanganan gaya pengasuhan orang tua disiplin belajar dan motivasi belajar sehingga dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa (5) Pihak-pihak terkait seperti orang tua kepala sekolah guru mata pelajaran wali kelas guru pembina OSIS guru BK dan guru tim tatib perlu lebih berperan aktif dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa gaya pengasuhan orang tua disiplin belajar dan motivasi belajar siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Malang dan (6) Perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengkaji kemungkinan terjadinya pergeseran perilaku siswa terhadap belajar di perpustakaan hubungan iklim belajar yang kondusif di sekolah dan di rumah kinerja kepala sekolah dan guru sarana dan prasarana pendukung belajar kesejahteraan guru kurikulum dan strategi belajar mengajar dengan prestasi belajar siswa. Therefore objectives of this research are to analyze (1) relationship between style of parent s care and student s achievement at the State Senior High Schools in Malang (2) relationship between learning discipline and student s achievement at the State Senior High Schools in Malang (3) relationship between learning motivation and student s achievement at the State Senior High Schools in Malang (4) simultaneous relationship between style of parent s care learning discipline as well as learning motivation and student s achievement at the State Senior High Schools in Malang and to find out the most dominant variable. This research used a quantitative approach that is an activity to collect and analyze data in the form of numbers or it is being numbered. The research used descriptive correlational design (Fraenkel Wallen 1993) that is to examine the possible relationship between each independent variable which includes parent s care style learning discipline and learning motivation of the students in relation with dependent variable of the student s achievement. Population of this research is all tenth-grade students at the State Senior High Schools in Malang during the academic year of 2007/2008 which comprise of 2509 students. The sample was taken by using Cluster sampling technique in order to avoid centering on certain area but it should spread over the area of Malang. Sample measurement will be determined using Krejcie s table in which calculation of the sample measurement was based on 5% errors. The trust level of the sample toward population was 95% in which number of the sample was 297 out of 1300 population. On this research number of population based on the school s sample was 1284 students and rounded off into 1300 students therefore number of the sample was 297 students. Data of the parent s care style learning discipline and learning motivation of the students was collected using questionnaire instrument which has passed through both validity and reliability tests. Data of the student s achievement was obtained from documents such as school report of the tenth-grade students during even semester in academic years of 2007/2008. Then the data will be collected and analyzed using computerized-statistics program (SPSS 16.0) descriptive analysis technique proper test correlation Product Moment analysis and multiple regression analysis in order to prove hypothesis of the research. Based on data analysis results some conclusions are drawn as follow (1) parent s care style has significant relationship with the student s achievement at the State Senior High Schools in Malang (2) learning discipline has significant relationship with the student s achievement at the State Senior High Schools in Malang (3) learning motivation has significant relationship with the student s achievement at the State Senior High Schools in Malang and (4) parent s care style learning discipline and learning motivation have simultaneously positive significant relationship with the student s achievement at the State Senior High Schools in Malang it means that the student s achievement cannot be separated from activities of parent s care style learning discipline and learning motivation. The effective contribution of the parent s care style toward the student s achievement is 12 3% learning motivation toward the student s achievement is 6 4% and learning discipline toward the student s achievement is 6.0%. However parent s care style has more dominant role toward the student s achievement in comparison with learning discipline and learning motivation. Based on findings of the research above some suggestions are given as follow (1) in developing Educational Management science to improve the student s achievement at the State Senior High Schools in Malang more intensive efforts should be done in relation with simultaneous parent s care style learning discipline and learning motivation of the students at the State Senior High Schools in Malang (2) Department of Education East Java Province as well as Malang Municipality should develop the Principals to improve the student s achievement (3) School s Superintendent of Malang should maintain constructive working relationship with the Principals and teachers in order to improve the student s achievement parent s care style learning discipline and develop appropriate learning motivation at the State Senior High Schools in Malang (4) The Principals of State Senior High Schools in Malang should guide the teachers in handling parent s care style learning discipline and learning motivation in order to improve the student s achievement (5) Related parties such as parent principals teacher of each subject homeroom teacher Leader of the Student s Organization of Intra-School Counseling teacher and team of teachers for disciplinary matters should play their roles more actively in improving the student s achievement parent s care style learning discipline and learning motivation of the students at the State Senior High Schools in Malang and (6) further research should be performed to review any possibility of the student s behavioral change toward learning in library conducive climate for study both at schools and home performance of the principals and teachers means and infrastructures which support the study teacher s prosperity curriculum and strategy for teaching and learning process which related to the student s achievement.
