Tujuanpenelitianiniadalahmengembangkan media pembelajaranberupa video animasiberjudulGara-garaRempah untukkelas XI SMAN 1 Sidoarjo. Video animasidipilihuntukmemberikanpengalamanbelajar yang berbedakepadasiswa. Dalampembelajaransejarah di kelas guru lebihseringmenampilkan video danbelumpernahmenampilkan video animasi. Adapunmateri yang dipilihadalahmengenairempah-rempahsebagaisalahsatupenyebabkedatanganbangsa Barat di Indonesia. Materiinidipilihkarena guru merasakesulitanmencari video pembelajaranuntukmateriterkait. Materi yang dipilihmerupakanmateriawaluntukkelas XI. Dengandemikian produkdapatsegeradimanfaatkanoleh guru dalampembelajaransejarah di kelas. Penelitianinimerupakanjenispenelitianpengembangandandilakukandenganmenggunakan model pengembangan yang digunakanoleh Borg dan Gall yang telahdimodifikasimenjaditujuhtahap. Tujuhtahaptersebutadalahtahapstudipendahuluan tahapperencanaan tahappengembanganproduk ujicobaawal (validasi) revisidesainproduk ujicobaterbatas danrevisiprodukakhirhasilpengembangan. Produk yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini berupa video animasi berdurasi 6 menit 42 detik dengan format MP4. Hasilpenelitiandiperolehmelaluiwawancaradanangketujicobaawalolehahlimateri ahli media danpraktisipendidikan sertaangketujicobaterbatasolehsiswa. Hasilujicobaawalterhadapahlimaterimenunjukkantingkatkelayakanmateridalamproduksebesar 82 50% sedangkanhasilujicobaawalterhadapahli media menunjukkantingkatkelayakanproduksebesar 97 73% danhasilujicobaawalterhadappraktisipendidikanmenunjukkantingkatkelayakanproduksebesar 81 25%. Adapunhasilujicobaterbatasterhadapsiswa menunjukkantingkatkelayakanproduk sebesar 87 71%. Keyword learning media animated video The research was conducted by the findings of the researcher at SMAN 1 Sidoarjo that teacher found it difficult to attract students attention during history learning so that classes were often encountered in rowdy situation. Nonetheless teacher did not experience problem related to student achievement in learning history. Teacher s difficulty in attracting students attention may be due to a lack of innovation in media usage. This research aim to develop an animated video learning media entitled Gara-garaRempahfor XIthgrade of SMAN 1 Sidoarjo. Animated video was chosen to provide a new learning experience to students which teacher more often display the video and had never shown an animated video during history class. The material chosen was about spices as one of the cause of the arrival of the Western to Indonesia which at that time was Nusantara (the archipelago). This material is suitable with basic competency 3.2 analyzing the process of entry and development of Western colonialism in Indonesia. This material was chosen because teacher found it difficult to find a learning video for related material. Besides the selected material is the starting material for class XI so that the product can be immediately utilized by the teacher in learning history in the classroom. The type of this research is development research and conducted using a development model used by Borg and Gall that had been modified into seven stages. Those seven stages are preliminary study planning product development preliminary test (validation) revision of product design limited trial and revision of final product of development result. This research produced a 6 minutes 42 seconds animated video with MP4 format.The research data was obtained through interviews and preliminary test questionnaires by material expert media expert and education practitioner and also limited trial questionnaires by students. The result of preliminary test by material expert showed the level of material feasibility in the product of 82.50% while the result of preliminary test by media expert showed the level of product feasibility of 97.73% and the result of preliminary test by education practitioner showed the level of product feasibility of 81.25%. The result of limited trial to students showed the level of product feasibility of 87.71%. Based on criteria of validity developed by Arikunto it can be concluded that the product developed in the form of animated video learning media Gara-garaRempah is very valid and feasible to be implemented or can be used without revision.
