Kata Kunci Media audio visual pemahaman konsep atmosfer Media audio visual merupakan media yang penyampaian pesannya dapat diterima oleh indera pendengaran dan indera penglihatan contohnya media film slide bersuara animasi dan multimedia berbasis komputer. Penggunaan media pembelajaran dapat membantu dalam menyampaikan informasi dengan lebih mudah. Berdasarkan alasan tersebut maka perlu dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media audio visual terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa kelas X pada materi atmosfer. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas X IPS 1 SMA Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2016-2017. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen semu (Quasi Experimental) yaitu suatu penelitian yang berdasarkan suatu percobaan semu dimana kelompok kontrol tidak dapat berfungsi sepenuhnya untuk mengontrol variabel-variabel luar yang mempengaruhi pelaksanaan eksperimen. Instrument yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes berupa tes essay. Data hasil instrumen tes essay dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Teknik yang digunakan dalam menentukan sampel adalah teknik simple random sampling dan analisis data yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah uji hipotesis Berdasarkan analisis data tersebut diperoleh hasil terhadap pengaruh media audio visual terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa kelas X IPS 1 pada materi atmosfer. Hasil uji hipotesis terhadap data post test menunjukkan nilai t_hitung 0 001 pada tes 1 dan tes 2. t_hitung 0 000 pada tes 2 dan 3. Nilai t_tabel 0 05. Nilai t_hitung t_tabel sehingga Ho ditolak. Rata-rata pemahaman konsep siswa menggunakan media audio visual meningkat setiap tesnya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman siswa pada materi atmosfer dapat ditingkatkan melalui media audio visual. The use of learning media can help in conveying information more easily Based on these reasons it is necessary to conduct a study which aims to know the influence of audio visual media toward concept understanding of the tenth graders on atmospheric materials. This study was conducted in class X IPS 1 SMA Laboratorium State University of Malang at the odd semester of 2016-2017 period The research method used in this study is quasi experimental method (Quasi Experimental) that is a research based on a pseudo experiment where the control group can not fully function to control the external variables that influence the experiment implementation. The instrument used is a test instrument in the form of an essay test. The result data of the essay test instrument was analyzed quantitatively. The technique sample used in this study is a simple random sampling technique and data analysis used for this research is hypothesis test. Based on the analysis of the data it obtained a result of on the influence of audio visual media toward concept understanding of the tenth graders on atmospheric materials. The result of hypothesis test toward data of post test shows that value t_count 0 001 on test 1 and test 2. t_count 0 000 on tests 2 and 3. Value t_tasle 0.05. Value t_count t_tasle so Ho is rejected. The average of students concepts understanding in using audio-visual media increases every test. This shows that students understanding on the materials about atmospheric can be improved through audio visual media.
