Materi pengetahuan dasar tergolong materi yang cukup sulit apabila dibandingkan materi geografi lainnya. Kesulitan siswa memahami materi pengetahuan dasar geografi dapat dibuktikan dari hasil isian angket 6 siswa dan wawancara dengan 2 guru bidang studi geografi SMAN 1 Turen yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa materi yang cukup sulit diantaranya (1) Konsep (2) Pendekatan (3) Prinsip. Buku teks geografi yang beredar disekolah beberapa diantaranya masih berfokus pada jabaran umum serta masih perlu koreksi dan perbaikan. Berkalitan dengan hal tersebut perlu adanya buku suplemen buku teks pengetahuan dasar geografi yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengambangan buku saku pengetahuan dasar geografi sebagai suplemen buku teks. Pemilihan model buku didasari dengan standar kelayakan oleh pusat perbukuan departemen pendidikan nasional meliputi (1) Materi (2) Penyajian (3) Bahasa (4) Kegrafikan. Tahapan penelitian pengembangan diadaptasi dari model pengembangan Dick and Carey dipadukan dengan Borg and Gall. Tahapan Model Dick and Carey dilaksanakan pada tahap 1-5 dilanjutkan dengan 7-9 digabungkan dengan model Borg and Gall dengan tahap ke 1-6. Secara garis besar tahapan pengembangan dimulai dari (1) Need Assesment (2) Development (3) Evaluasi Formatif dan (4) Uji coba Lapangan. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa soal tes dan angket dengan merujuk kreteria penilaian Akbar (2013). Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X IIS 1 SMAN 1 Turen Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar dari pre-test ke post-test. Nilai rata-rata pre-test siswa 53 03 dan meningkat menjadi 85 84 pada post-test. Hasil angket siswa dan guru menunjukan bahwa produk dikategorikan sangat efektif untuk digunakan. Nilai rata-rata angket siswa 81 28 dan angket guru 83 75. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk buku saku dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Turen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tesebut dapat dikemukakan saran sebagai berikut 1) Saran pemanfaatan bagi guru dan siswa buku saku dipergunakan sebagai suplemen buku teks yang dapat menunjang proses pembelajaran 2) Saran diseminasi buku saku dibuat format pdf untuk disebarluaskan melalui internet 3) Saran untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut validator produk sebaiknya berasal dari praktisi yang ahli dibidangnya perlu memperkuat materi pendekatan geografi dianjurkan untuk lebih memperbanyak lagi ilustrasi dengan bahasa yang komunikatif ABSTRACT Amala Della Suryani. 2017. This is difficult material when compared another geographic materials. Students fell difficult to understanding the basic of geography knowledge material as evidenced by the results of 6 student questionairess and interviews with 2 geography teachers in SMAN 1 Turen which shows there are some difficult materials such as (1) Concept (2) Approach (3)Principle. Geographic textbooks that circulate in some schools are still focusing on general explanation and still need correction and improvement. In this case there needs to be a supplement book about the basic of geography knowledge which improve the result of learning in X class. This research is a form of pocket book exploration of basic geography knowledge as a textbook supplement. The selection of book models is based on standards feasibility by the book center the Ministry of Education including (1) Material (2) Presentation (3) Language (4) Challenge. Stages development research are derived from the Dick and Carey development model and combined with Borg and Gall. The Dick and Carey Model stages are performed in 1-5 followed by 7-9 steps then combined with Borg and Gall model with 1-6 stages. In outline the development stage begins from (1) Need Assessment (2) Development (3) Formative Evaluation and (4) Field Test. The instruments used in this study are test and questionnaires with reference Akbar s assessment criteria (2013). The subjects of the study were X IIS 1 students at SMAN 1 Turen The results showed increase in the result of learming from pre-test to post-test. The average value in the pre-test was 53.03 and increased to 85.84 in the post-test. The results of student and teacher questionnaires show that it is categorize very effective to use. The average value of student questionnaire is 81.28 and teacher questionnaire is 83.75. Therefore it can be concluded that pocket book can improve student learning outcomes X class at SMAN 1 Turen. Based on the results of the research there are some suggestions 1) Utilization suggestion for teachers and students pocket book can be used as textbook supplement that support the learning process 2) Dissemination suggestion pocket book should be made with pdf format to spread on the internet 3) Suggestion for future development validator should come from practitioners who are experts to strengthen the geography approach it is recommended to reproduce more illustrations in communicative language.
