Abstract

Etikasari Bety. 2013. The Difference of Learning Result and Metacognitive Student Between Project Based Learning Model and Guided Inquiry Learning Modelat TKJ Grade X of SMK. Scription Study Program of Information Technique Electrical Engineering Department Technical Faculty of Malang State University. Supervisor Drs. Slamet Wibawanto M.T. Co-Supervisor Drs. FX. Budi Raharjo M.Pd. Keywords Project Based Learning guided inquiry metacognitive learning result. Learning components include objective material method and evaluation that is connected each other. Those components must be paid attention in choosing and determining learning model. Installing local area network competency has the equipments necessity planning stage installation and configuration stage and installation result testing stage. Implementation of learning model that suitable with the competency characters determines the learning result. Project based learning model and guided inquiry learning model can be used as learning model alternative on that competency. Metacognitive strategy is applied to improve metacognitive ability so that the students can manage their cognition well. Research plan using experimental quasy with pretest-posttest control group design uses two classes as the project based learning model in experiment class and the guided inquiry learning model in control class. Data analysis to test hypothesis using t-test because measuring the difference between cognitive affective psychomotor and metacognitive learning result includes knowledge and regulation between two learning models. The research result shows that 1) project based learning model is more effective to be applied to local area network installing competency than guided inquiry learning model to improve students cognitive and psychomotor 2) project based learning model and guided inquiry learning model has the same effectiveness to improve students affective 3) project based learning model and guided inquiry learning model has the same effectiveness to improve students metacognitive knowledge and regulation. On the project based learning model implementation stage students are more skilled in finishing the project assignments and have better learning experiences with continuously learning control. This is like what Wena said about project based learning model s characteristics. But project based learning model and guided inquiry learning model has the same effectiveness on improving students affective learning result because of the two learning models have the characteristics to dig students starting knowledge with a problem so that the students curiosity grow. Those two learning models show the same effectiveness on improving knowledge and regulation metacognitive students because students do the assignments finishing planning and control the process. This is like what Ormrod Jeanne Ellis said about metacognitive.
