Key words teacher s effort study difficulty Economics is one of the integrated social lessons that is given to the students of SMP Negeri 2 Pare grade VIII. This lesson is given to the students with the aim to give knowledge to the alumnus through any understanding.But in reality not all students get the optimum understanding of economic lesson. In a result students could be saidthat they face study difficulty. This difficulty usually is indicated through the scores of students teaching learning process in economic lesson. Theoretically thisdifficulty comes from the student itself (internal factor) and also from the thing out of the students (external factor). The focus of this research is teacher s effort to overcome the study difficulty which is faced by students grade VIII for economic lesson in SMP Negeri 2 Pare. This research uses qualitative descriptive approach. In collecting data process the researcher uses observation method questionnaire interview and documentary. This research was done in SMP Negeri 2 Pare. The respondent consists of 25 students for questionnaire 2 students for interview and 2 teachers of economic lesson. The finding in the field shows that study difficultyof economic lesson which is faced by students is not to interested in the students to economic lesson the less interest in economic lesson students often feel bored to economic lesson the less of study facilities which related to the book as a source which belongs to the students and the less attention of parents. In spite teacher s effort to overcome the study difficulty is through implementing varieties methods to overcome students bored enhancing passion and spirit of study to attend economic class giving motivation doing the approach to the students who are not getting attention from their parents using all sources to overcome the limited book giving homework in order to make students more understand giving counseling to the students outside the classroom for the students who have not understood yet. From the result of this research it could be recommended to the economics teacher to make them are able to do the efforts to overcome the difficulty of study and for the next research it is hoped to develop the other better alternatives.
