The purpose of this study was to determine the readiness implementation constraints and alternative solutions carried out by SMAN 4 Malang in the independent curriculum. This research uses qualitative research approach method. The data sources used were primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques used were observation interview and documentation. The results of this study indicate that SMAN 4 Malang has shown good readiness in implementing the Independent Curriculum. This is evidenced by several strategic steps that have been taken including providing facilities and infrastructure equipping teachers with various trainings. In its implementation economics teachers use various methods and technology in designing student-centered learning. Nevertheless there are still some obstacles and challenges faced such as the lack of socialization and teachers ability to apply new learning methods. Various efforts were made by SMAN 4 Malang to overcome the obstacles faced.
