This study examines language anxiety and mindset among preservice English teachers. The research surveyed 55 of sixth-semester students from the English Department at one of university in Malang. Using a quantitative survey design the data was collected via a Google Forms questionnaire comprising 44 statements on foreign language anxiety second language mindset and open-ended questions. The study showed that having a growth mindset in language learning helps students handle difficulties more effectively. While students generally exhibit confidence in learning English specific situations can still induce anxiety. It can be concluded a strong connection between language anxiety and mindset which reveals that language anxiety is closely linked to mindset. Having a growth mindset helps a lot in dealing with anxiety. The study s limitations include the sample being restricted to preservice teachers from a single university. Future research could explore different language skills employ qualitative methodologies for deeper insights or expand the sample to include a broader range of preservice English teachers.
