The participants were 78 students of Madrasah Aliyah Yayasan Taman Pengetahuan from the tenth grade students in the year academic of 2023/2024. The instruments were simple past tense test and writing personal recount text. Then the data was analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment Correlation in SPSS 25 version application. However the correlation was considered as positive weak correlation since the r and significance value is 0.356 and 0.001.
