It is widely known that social media can introduce people to a new torrent of information including information on literature. Established in 2018 literarybase an autobase on Twitter has become one of the biggest arenas for avid readers to interact with each other and exchange information. It appears that these readers publicly display their reading habits by posting their reading journey. The reading habits of the people in this online region is however still largely unexplored. This study was aimed to gain insights on the reading habits of literarybase followers measured by the following indicators reading frequency reading engagement motivation and attitude and reading environment. This study also finds out the literarybase followers rsquo attitudes on the autobase. Using the descriptive research method this study analyzed the quantitative data from 561 responses. 86 5% of the respondents read book or other reading materials every day. Next respondents engage differently in their reading experience. The most preferred statement constituting more than 80% of the respondents was the one asking if the issues in the reading materials they read raise a certain reflective topic. The highest motivation to read for these respondents is to improve their target language (59%). 90% respondents agreed that reading is important to them indicating that they have a positive reading attitude toward reading. Based on these findings the respondents do have a love for reading and positive reading habits. Accordingly we can learn valuable insights from the followers on how to develop positive reading habits as they also see that literarybase has a positive impact on their literacy journey.
