Information technology significantly impacts all areas of daily life and is recognized as a change agent in various systems including education. In education it enhances scientific research information management and exchange teaching approaches learning methodologies and access to materials from primary to university levels. IT allows educators to present material engagingly and create customized virtual learning environments using various hardware and software such as computers projectors tablets and digital games. Investigating IT use in Indonesia and Tanzania aims to understand how school counselors use IT when providing guidance and counseling services challenges and creative solutions they use to overcome challenges. This research used mixed methods to collect data and the subjects were School counselors both males and females with a working experience of one year and above. Questionnaires and Interviews were the methods used to collect data. Questionnaires were given to 35 school counselors from each country (Indonesia and Tanzania) for quantitative data and 20 school counselors from Indonesia and Tanzania were interviewed. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics through the SPSS Statistical Program. In contrast coding was used to analyze the qualitative data and result integration was used to combine qualitative and quantitative data to get a relevant understanding. The study shows that school counselors extensively use various technologies such as smartphones laptops Microsoft Word PDFs Google Forms WhatsApp Instagram Zoom Google Meet and YouTube for guidance services. However they face challenges like connectivity issues lack of tech knowledge unequal access to training time constraints data-destroying viruses and electricity problems in Tanzania. To address these counselors learn from peers use external devices like flash drives and power banks buy personal data packages and manage their time well. The researcher concludes that stakeholders need to increase support especially in Tanzania to help counselors overcome these challenges and improve their services. .
