This research is intended to find out the employment of subtitled vlogs in improving EFL learners rsquo listening comprehension. This study was conducted in a listening course involving a total of 41 students of UIN SATU Tulungagung. This research was carried out according to the result of the preliminary study which indicated that the students faced difficulty in listening and most of them were still low in listening comprehension. To overcome the problem experienced by students in this class the researcher applied Classroom Action Research. This study was conducted in one cycle by following the procedure of action research i.e. plan action observation and reflection. The activities in the teaching learning process employed subtitled vlogs which included several stages. First the researcher played the subtitled vlog twice. Second the researcher distributed the questions to students. Third the researcher played the vlog without subtitles while students completed the task. Fourth the researcher and students discussed the main idea and the task results. Fifth the researcher gave the picture statement to sort or questions in the form of audio. Sixth students answered the questions according to their comprehension after watching the vlog. Last the researcher gave the assignment as an exercise at each meeting. The instruments for collecting data consist of an observation checklist and field notes listening test and a questionnaire. Essentially there were two criteria of success in this study (1) 75% of students get score higher than or equal 76 points or get grade B (2) the students rsquo average score is at least 76. The results of the study revealed that the employment of subtitled vlogs can improve the students rsquo listening comprehension in online learning context. According to data obtained at the end of the cycle 35 students (85 4%) got higher than or equal to the passing grade of 76 points and the students rsquo average score was 81.78. This means the result of students rsquo post-action test met the criteria of success in this study therefore a further cycle was not needed since the criteria of success have been fulfilled. This study experienced a shift in the score category from Enough to Good after the strategies were carried out. The results of the observation and questionnaire also supported the success of the research by showing that students had positive responses and were actively involved in class. Therefore for practitioners who encounter similar problems the application of this strategy can be considered as an alternative way to solve the students rsquo problems. The result of this study also can be used as a valid reference in conducting the research for further research in the same field.
