Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic the current trend of the educational system is towards the implementation of Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). This study aims to investigate the EFL teachers rsquo perception of VLE and to describe the problems or challenges faced by them while using virtual learning in ELT classrooms. The participants of this study were four EFL teachers. The data were collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The perceptions were analyzed in five aspects (1) application used (2) usefulness (3) ease of use (4) behavioral intention and (5) system usage. This study employed a case study with a qualitative approach. The data from the questionnaire was analyzed through several steps scoring the questionnaire finding the percentage calculating the central tendency (CT) interpreting data analysis and stating the conclusion. Furthermore thematic analysis was used to analyze the interviews data. The results of the study revealed that the average score of the questionnaires which consisted of five aspects was 81%. This is categorized that the EFL teachers have a positive perception of virtual learning in ELT classrooms. VLE is also helpful during the Covid-19 pandemic it helps the existing problems so that the government changed the regulation from face-to-face learning to virtual learning. Furthermore this study also found that the teachers used several applications or platforms in virtual learning such as Zoom Meeting Google Classroom Google Meet Instagram and WhatsApp. Another result showed that the EFL teachers encountered several problems and challenges that occurred while using virtual learning such as living in remote areas so that the connectivity is not evenly distributed and the internet quotas and smartphones are not affordable to buy. Besides plagiarism and submitting the assignment late were also being problems in virtual learning. The school and the EFL teachers also offer several things to overcome those problems. Lastly the researcher would like to suggest several things for further research related to the teachers rsquo perception of VLE in ELT classrooms. The suggestion from the researcher for future studies is to conduct a similar study with more participants because this study was limited to a public senior high school in Belitang South Sumatra so that future researchers are suggested to investigate this issue in all levels of education. Furthermore there are many issues that are interesting to be investigated related to VLE such as exploring the readiness of EFL teachers towards the implementation of VLE as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation of VLE. From these suggestions the researcher hopes that future studies with a similar topic will give more significant contributions.
