Abstract research s aim was to investigate the correlation between genre knowledge reading comprehension and writing skills in narrative text. The population of this research is 63 students from SMAN 3 Batu in the second year of their study. The research used correlational research with multiple correlation methods. The class is tested in three sets of assignments Genre Knowledge reading comprehension and Writing Skills in the topic of narrative text. The instruments for this research were Genre Knowledge reading comprehension and Writing skill tests. After the test was conducted and analyzed this research found that the correlation between genre knowledge reading comprehension and writing skills in narrative text are slightly correlated in a negative path correlation it means that the value reflect if one skill is improved the other might have the slight changes to be lowered. It is concluded that the student who excels in one of the skills tends to perform lower in other skills it is suggested that Genre knowledge Reading comprehention and writing skills three skills need to be trained separately to achieve the best optimal result in these three respected skills.
