This study aims to identify high school students experiences towards the habit of watching English movies and their perceptions of the impact on their listening comprehension skills because the researcher wants to know high school students perceptions based on their autonomous learning experiences on the development of listening skills. This study also aims to support students improvement in listening comprehension with English movies as the media. The data was collected by online questionnaire. The findings show that students had a positive perception of watching English movies and believed that it was effective in improving their listening skills. The students frequently watch English movies as a means of entertainment and to improve their language skills spending an average of 1-3 hours per week watching movies. They primarily use online streaming platforms and cinemas for movie consumption. While subtitles are used students can still understand the storyline and important details in the movies. They could clearly hear the vocabulary spoken in the movies. However students still found it difficult to clearly hear spoken sentences and some of them felt that watching English movies does not have practical benefits for daily use.
