Mastering reading is a crucial skill for students studying English as it plays a vital role in their learning process and overall development. Engaging in reading enables students to acquire new knowledge broaden their horizons enhance their understanding of various subjects and sharpen their critical thinking abilities. This research aims to improve student s knowledge skill and attitude by utilizing Webtoons online comic strips as teaching media. This research is classroom action research (CAR) involving 16 students from grade 7B at Public Junior High School 1 at Tosari Pasuruan Regency East Java Indonesia. Therefore the research consisted of one cycle that consists of 4 steps Planning Acting Observing and Reflecting. There were 3 meetings in this research. Students comprehension of the descriptive text was low before utilizing Webtoons online comic strips as a teaching medium. This is evident from the mean of preliminary study scores that the researcher conducted before the research is 37 5. The minimum mastery level (70) was not achieved by any of the students. However students comprehension of reading descriptive text improved by an average score of 85.5 after utilizing Webtoons online comic strips. This shows an enhancement of students knowledge in the classroom. The results of the observation sheet also show an improvement in student skills where students are more active in the classroom more enjoyable and more interested in the learning and teaching process while utilizing Webtoon as a learning media. Moreover the Google form distributed to students shows that students attitudes towards webtoon as a learning media get a positive view.
