During the COVID-19 epidemic the change to online English language learning demanded a reevaluation of instructional methodologies and the problems that English language instructors face such as access to facilities technology and pedagogical. This study investigates into the specific issues faced by EFL teachers in junior high schools in Malang City. It investigates how these problems may affect both teachers and students. The study aimed to identify the most common issues encountered by EFL teachers in delivering online English teaching in junior high schools in Malang City Indonesia. It also tried to investigate the techniques established by these teachers to deal with these issues based on their experiences. Data was collected through a quantitative survey. Purposive sampling was used to ensure that the sample contained teachers who had previously taught English online. Data was gathered using a questionnaire with 19 items delivered to 25 English teachers from various schools in the Malang Region. EFL teachers in Malang City had a difficult time shifting to online instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many teachers struggled to maintain student involvement (percentage not available) present learning materials successfully (44% for speaking and 48% for writing) and devise correct evaluations (more than 52%). Addressing these problems is critical for effective online EFL instruction and improved student learning results.
