Feedback is an important element in the teaching and learning activities especially in the writing class. So peer feedback is implemented during the learning process in writing to enhance students rsquo writing qualities and abilities. The research design used in this study is an interview study where the data are collected through an exchange of information. It is aiming to investigate how English Department students perceive the use of peer feedback in their academic writing. The study employed questionnaires and interviews as the instruments. This study involved five students as the interviewee participants from the English Department of Universitas Negeri Malang. The result of this study shows that students get to improve their writing abilities and qualities however they also have to face some challenges during the activity. Hence teachers and students are recommended to use peer feedback during their academic writing class because it shows positive effect but it must be followed with proper instructions.
