Writing involves conveying thoughts in written form such as essays poems and stories. For students in particular writing proficiency especially in narrative texts is important. This research used classroom action research using the Kurt Lewin rsquo s model to improve students ability in writing narrative text. The research conducted at Negeri 1 Junior High School in Tosari East Java Indonesia implemented a strategy involving a 5-15 minute English movie as inspiration for collaborative narrative text writing in one cycle. Preliminary narrative text scores averaged 37.5 indicating a need for improvement. Subsequently after the intervention students scores averaged 81.9 with all students reaching the minimum mastery level. This shows that integrating English movies with collaborative group work successfully improved narrative writing skills.
