This research examines basic competence 3.9 and 4.9 in eighth grade of MTSN 1 Kota Malang to find out how the students could achieve the learning objectives using CTL Strategy. Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is one of the strategies which the teacher could use to do the teaching and learning activities in the classroom. This strategy contains activities such as discussion with peers which is quite familiar for the students in MTSN 1 Malang because it has been implemented since they were in the seventh grade. It aims to find what activities that the has more impact to the students understanding about the degree of comparisons and with that comprehension are the students be able to achieve the learning objective especially using the material in English-speaking related to their daily live. This research used a case study approach with a descriptive explanation. The researcher found that discussion with peers is the most favorite students rsquo activity to learn. With this activity the students could improve their English-speaking skills along with their listening skills and the quality of their learning process. Thus CTL is one of the alternative strategies to be implemented in classroom especially for the English material that requires students to be more active and involved in speaking.
