Teaching receptive skills to achieve fluency in reading and listening can be challenging for TEFL teachers. It requires teachers to deeply explore and understand the strategy because they should apply appropriate strategies to develop students English receptive skills. The purpose of this study is to describe teaching strategies teachers used in teaching English receptive skills and to find out how teachers perceive the strategies in teaching students at thirteen Junior High Schools in Pasuruan regency. This study is designed as a descriptive quantitative study using a survey. This research used two instruments those were a questionnaire and an interview guide. The results showed that teachers have positive perceptions toward teaching strategies on listening and reading. Most of them can implement strategies in English receptive skills that adapt to the students need. They also emphasize what students need when teaching English receptive skills because it brings the process of learning more interesting. They also able to improve students rsquo English Receptive skills. This study implies the importance of understanding strategies to improve the instructional process s quality in teaching receptive English skills.
