This study is aimed at investigating the correlation between reading motivation and critical thinking and reading comprehension ability. Based on PISA by OECD Indonesia is rated 74th among 79 nations in reading literacy. indicated that students rsquo reading ability in Indonesia are still low. Ninety students from SMA Negeri 2 Malang s eleventh grade science were chosen to participate in this study. This research study implemented a correlational design to assess the relationship between the variables. The author employed three different types of instruments reading comprehension exam critical thinking test and motivation in reading questionnaires (MRQ) which were all obtained from Wigfield and Guthrie (1997). The data were analyzed by the author using SPSS. With a significant value of 0.00 which is less than 0.05 and a Pearson correlation of 0.875 which indicates a strong correlation the data obtained indicated a correlation between reading motivation critical thinking and reading comprehension abilities. Therefore students with high reading motivation and critical thinking skills tend to having high reading comprehension skills.
