Abstract.This study was intended to find the gap among the students who experience public speaking anxiety. The study focuses on the reason to find the cause and an explanation of how high-achieving English Language Education Students can get high GPAs and high English test scores despite their anxiety symptoms. The study was conducted in the Universitas Negeri Malang 2021 cohort of English Language Education Students. The method that is being used in this research is a qualitative case study which focused on finding the specific interviewee to be interviewed after the researchers conducted a survey that was carefully selected based on the delimitation of the study. The study discovers numerous explanations that the interviewees experience such as the cause of anxiety their strategy to cope with the anxiety their strategy to maintain their high GPA and the environmental influences that motivate the interviewee to overcome the anxiety and try to gain as high score as possible to make themselves and their family proud.
