This study aims to describe the shortening words that are revolved around and the type of shortening that revolves around millennials in TikTok. The research method was descriptive qualitative. This research is qualitative and the researchers make observations by observing data on TikTok as a research field. The data collected is in the form of words or sentences in the TikTok comments column of an Indonesian influencer. The data collection technique uses observation techniques after which comments on the TikTok influencer account containing shortening words are marked and recorded and then classified based on the four forms of shortening words namely contraction clipping blending and abbreviation. The results showed that the most widely used shortening word on the TikTok influencer account is clipping while the one used the least is blending. Word shortening is generally the use of combining several words that are carried out. This process has an impact on saving space and time on social media and enables people to have simple dialogues such as in informal communication.
