This study aims to investigate the types of slang word formations and functions of slang used in Drew Binsky rsquo s YouTube videos. The researchers used the descriptive qualitative method collected data using documentation techniques and used content analysis to discuss the data. The researchers chose 12 videos from Drew Binsky rsquo s YouTube channel (an American vlogger traveler and Youtuber) to analyze the data. After that the researchers classified the slang words according to their types and functions using the theory of Yule (2006 2010) Allan and Burridge (2006). In this study the researchers found there were 276 slang words used in Drew Binsky rsquo s YouTube videos ten types of slang word formations (blending borrowing flippant acronym derivation fresh/creative clipping compounding prefixes and suffixes and coinage) with the dominant used is blending and eight functions of slang (to do something to form an intimate atmosphere to state something to mention to ease word pronunciation to express something to initiate relaxed conversation and to inform something) with the highest use is to do something.
