This study analyzes the dialects and idiolect of Katy Perry and Jimmy Kimmel s conversation. The study data is a talk show video of Katy Perry and Jimmy Kimmel. The data obtained were analyzed regarding the phonological features filler words and lexicon variations. The phonological analysis found in this study includes several notions such as fronting /uw/ ju ndash iu ndash u merger long / / sound and long / / sound. It was also found the overuse of phrases as fillers such as like you know and um that the speakers repeated in every sentence. In addition several words that show in the Californian dialect and that of the East Coast dialect were found in the analysis of lexicon variation. For instance the Californian dialect uses the word for sure to convince something informally. On the East Coast dialect momnes is an unspoken word that explains countless explanations about the motherly side. So in this study dialect is shown on phonological and the lexicon variation and the idiolect is shown on phonological features and filler words.
