Abstract

AbstractThis research aims at finding out teachers' perspective of using songs on improving speaking ability for Junior High School. In-depth interview was used to collect data. Junior High School rsquo s English teacher from two different schools in Kepanjen Malang Regency East Java Indonesia had been interviewed. The sample consisted of 5 English teachers taken from the population of more than 40 English teachers in Junior High School in Kepanjen. Data analysis had been done by using content analysis approach and coding. The findings showed teacher experiences of using songs in teaching English the improvement of students rsquo speaking ability and the strategy to maximize the use of songs as a good prospect in the future. In short the teachers suggested the preparation of songs used in any materials since songs bring a lot of impacts and advantages in learning and teaching process. This research is limited since the interviews were from teachers rsquo perspective only.
