Abstract

This research aims to find the English Language Education (ELE) students rsquo assessment and suggestions towards individual Intensive Course coursebook used in the Department of English in Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) academic year 2018/2019 based on a survey-review. The instrument is developed upon Cunningsworth (1995) and Brown (2000) rsquo s theories which include the book rsquo s aims and approach language content design and organization and specific criteria each subject course book must have. The findings show that 58% of the students find that IC Book Reading is good 62% of the students think IC Book Writing is good 58% of the students see IC Book Listening as good 65% of the students consider IC Book Speaking good 63% of the students believe that IC Book Grammar is good and 62% of the students acknowledge that IC book Vocabulary is good. Further research involving the students of English Language Literature (ELL) is needed and teachers who use the book in their teaching is needed to achieve a more holistic assessment and suggestions towards the book.
