This study examined and compared the influence of the Collaborative and Individual Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) on EFL students reading comprehension skills. DRTA is a reading strategy that involve students in the process of predicting texts. This research used a quantitative quasi-experimental research design and involved two regular classes of eleventh grade that consist of sixty-nine students. The data were collected through pretest and posttest which consist of 20 multiple choices. The student were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The result reveals that the null hypothesis cannot be rejected or there is no significant difference between students reading comprehension in terms of students using Collaborative DRTA and Individual DRTA because the sig value show less than sig level (0.77 gt 0.05). There are several reasons why the null hypothesis cannot be rejected and the alternative hypothesis cannot be accepted. First time for teaching learning is limited. Second sample size taken is not precisions.
