Abstract

Nowadays technology-enhanced learning (TEL) has been used ineducation. This study aims to investigate students rsquo perception of using Octagon Augmented Reality flashcard toward students rsquo vocabulary knowledge. Two Indonesian elementary students participated in this study by sharing their experiences and perceptions before and after using Octagon Augmented Reality flashcard. At the elementary stage students tend to be interested in visual appearance such as in three-dimensional (3D) objects. This is because for young learners 3D objects are interesting or eye-catching and easy to play. Writteninterview and in-depth interview are used to explore students rsquo learning experiences. Based on the content analysis the qualitative data showed that the students rsquo learning experience of using Octagon Augmented Reality flashcard gave several positive impacts on their vocabulary knowledge. In addition the use of Augmented Reality in M-learning to learn vocabulary can lead to increased understanding ofcontent better spatial recognition skills and language acquisition greater memory retention better collaboration and increased motivation
